What a great post. I love Havi and yes, How DOES she do what she does? certainly runs through my mind on a regular basis. Thank you for panning for gold and coming up with some real nuggets.

Also, I appreciate your thoughts on community-tribe as word, cliche and holy grail.

I'm a huge fan of Havi Brooks. So this was a super educational look at her history and blog. :) I discovered your site through Naomi awhile ago, and I've really enjoyed your design and blog a lot.

Knowing that you're also just as jealous/super in love with Havi is cool. I get you. :)

As for comments, sometimes I think some blogs/communities are more prone to commenting? What do you think?

Thanks Sarah, this is super helpful and informative. I love how you were able to illuminate your inner thought processes toward the end. It feels like you got a lot out of the analysis too. It's always great to be reminded that people aren't miraculously *born* into success. Thanks for slaying that duck, er demon!

Thanks for that, Havi. Love the story, love the generous-ness of you. It's funny how the overnight thing really isn't. Still, there's a loyalty that you inspire in people that is rather remarkable in itself. With or without financial success, that is rare.

Okay, this was so completely fascinating! And not, you know, because it's kind of about me.

But just because I've never seen anyone really buckle down and try to "reverse engineer" someone's success story like that. Super interesting thing to do.

It also really helped me spend some time reflecting on the past four years and how hard they were at times, while still recognizing that from the outside it could totally look like magic and success and fabulousness.

So I'm getting a better handle on the "Good grief, what DID happen?" story. And I really appreciate how you spend so much time processing things and thinking about them in this really thorough, thoughtful way.

Also -- reassurance time -- I really did have like, three subscribers for what seemed like FOREVER. :)

Anyway, you rock. *blows kiss*

I appreciate you so much and got a lot from your post today. Thank you for the links to Havi too, when I saw she is in Portland, OR, where I am too, it took my breath away.

Blessings.

That's awesome, Eliana. Courage is everything. I am learning that every risk I take brings exponential growth -- it almost (almost!) makes you want to start taking more risks. :)

Havi's pirate crew is basically the people that she works with. I've been thinking about hiring for a while now, but I'm too squeamish. :)

I love what you wrote. I watched in awe as Havi gave up her newsletter writing to JUST go for the blog.

This year of change has got me going to rock bottom of my soul to get the courage to be even more honest with what I am doing here.
Authentically express my own voice - it's what I teach - it's what I have to learn.

Thanks alot.
